Think of your core values as the “bricks in your foundation.” Connecting (or re-connecting) with your values and aligning your life with them is vital to being the best version of yourself. Your values are what make you tick. Values show you what to prioritize, what is truly important to you, what gives you that wonderful sense of fulfillment.
Core Values are about YOU.
A small selection of core values is: freedom, honesty, trust, ethics / integrity, financial security, passion, growth, acknowledgment, recognition, communication, challenge, empathy. The list is long. Core values are individual. These are examples only.
Feeling more grounded and connected to yourself gives you strengths you had forgotten you have.
They can be described as your code of ethics, your fundamental principles, your standards, or personal rules.
YourCore Values are not what society, the media, your education, your colleagues, friends or family deem as important, but what is important to you, what you value. They are personal and therefore uniquely yours.
Stress tends to set in when you are not treating these values with the respect they deserve.
You might also lose your motivation and focus if one of your Values is being dishonored.
Honoring your values by making them a priority means you are choosing your behavior based on the right foundation, based on your personal code of ethics. You can only gain – it is a win-win!
