Excellent book with loads of practical tips

This book helped me to regain a sense of perspective in my life by enabling me to see the bigger picture and not get bogged down in the details. It has helped me to realise that acquiring the essential life skills necessary to flourish in life requires time, patience, and deliberate practice, and that meaningful, sustainable changes require a long-term outlook.
This book also underscored the need to reclaim your personal power in line with your core values. It’s ultimately a call to authenticity. By being kind to yourself, being patient with yourself, and taking the time necessary to know yourself, you’ll make good choices in life and feel good in the process. There is a compound effect to decision-making processes, so one good (or bad) decision tends to beget another.
This books offers extremely practical tips whereby virtually any reader can say « I can relate to that » across all the sections. It’s broken down in such a way that it is very reader-friendly and flows ... in fact, I found it hard to put down and binge-read it! It’s highly recommended for anyone who embraces the notion of continuous improvement in life through a step-by-step approach that endures the test of time.

I find BALANCE really useful as a reference when I am triggered emotionally . The questions in the exercises are very helpful in increasing my self awareness and consequently in handling those situations more effectively.

I enjoyed not only the content of this book, but the way that it was organized and broken up. Very interactive so that you weren’t just reading, but also applying along the way.
I am a practical person and love the common sense, no-nonsense approach of this book. Suzie Doscher de-mystifies how one can deal effectively and authentically with life's challenges. In the chapter, Stop Beating Yourself Up, the questions she asked are spot on. Sometimes life seems so complicated, but this book cuts through that with grace and humor. Great handbook for living life!

Life is full of difficulties and disappointments, scrapes and stumbles. But a wise friend who is willing to help us ask the right questions can make the journey so much easier. Doscher's BALANCE isn't a person but it surely feels like one -- a caring empathic companion who guides the reader to discover answers for themselves. The book is clearly laid out: it is meditative and calm but absolutely practical, encouraging us to ask the questions that will make sure we are happier, more assured, kinder to ourselves. It's neither fluffy nor jargon-ridden: I can't imagine the reader who wouldn't feel gratified by reading it, hearing Doscher's warm quiet voice, and putting the gently persistent suggestions into action.
It is practical and picks up on most problems to address which would be common for most people. Can dip in and out.
A truly inspiring book I have read this book at a point in my life where I wanted something to change and I didn't know if it ever could. Through these pages I have understood how our experience in life depends 90% on us and not on external events, and that is a life changing lesson indeed. Absolutely recommended.
